Product Introduction
The MBBR media AS-MBBR04 are small and mobile plastic carriers that are suspended in water. It's specifically designed for wastewater containing large particles and aquacultural projects. During the operation, numerous microorganisms can attach themselves to the surface of the MBBR media, thus forming a biofilm. When the aquaculture water circulates within the reactor, various pollutants in the water, such as uneaten feed, ammonia nitrogen and nitrite, will be decomposed by the microorganisms on the biofilm. So the media contributes to purifying the water quality and creating a healthy environment for fish and aquatic plants.
Main Features
High Specific Surface Area
The MBBR media AS-MBBR04 has an extremely high specific surface area of 900 m²/m³. Within a unit volume, microorganisms are able to attach in large numbers, forming dense and active biofilms. Therefore, it can decompose water pollutants faster.
Efficient Water Treatment
The media has a wheel-shaped appearance with spokes. The special structure allows it to promote turbulence in the water flow. This reduces the frequency of water changes and permits higher culture densities and yields.
Less Maintenance
Filtering wastewater is very easy with these media, AquaSust's MBBR media has a self-cleaning design. All you need to do is pour the media into the pond, fish tank, and combine it with an air pump and air stone to keep the media moving. And you hardly need to clean them when you use them.
